DOWNLOADABLE SOUNDS

These mp3 fx files are all royalty-free and available for your personal use in scaring the bejeezus out of the neighborhood kids. This can be a fun a rewarding passtime 24/7/365, but is generally frowned upon 364 of those days. The other day, October 31st, is another thing entirely.

This section is starting out slowly, but I'll add files as I create them for my own use, or to fill requests. All of the files here are original, and most of them were created for the cartoons here on the site. If you wanna distribute them for free, be my guest. If you decide to sell them...well, let's just say I know Jason Voorhees personally.

Halloween Sounds

I can't think of anything better to listen to on Halloween than CHILLING THRILLING SOUNDS OF THE HAUNTED HOUSE. I had this record when I was a kid, and "love" is not a strong enough word to describe my feelings for it.

CTSOTHH was the epitome of the cheap sound fx albums that came out during the 60s and 70s. Thing was, these sounds weren't cheap. No sir, you wouldn't find one cat sound that sounded like it emanated from a human being. These sounds were straight from the Disney effects archives, and they were absolutely otherworldly.

I used to sit in the dark and listen to this record until I was scared out of my wits and had to turn it off. I'd take a break with a little of the moog crack-fest that is "Ghostly Sounds", then give CTSOTHH another try. If you've never heard this record, it's high time you gave it a try. It can be found online at FORBIDDEN CRYPTS.

Also be sure to check out the SCAR STUFF BLOG. A very generous, haunted soul named Jason has decided to make many of my ghoulish dreams come true by posting his entire collection of 60s and 70s Halloween albums for the world to download. Stop by and check it out, but be careful. The spirits of Halloweens past lurk in those wondrous sounds, and are likely to get downloaded too.
